Huh?  In October?

YES!!!

While doing anything for Christmas before the day after Thanksgiving goes against all of our fundamental beliefs, Santa and Ms. Claus jumped at the calling for Secret Santa Over Atlanta to spearhead a cheer team for the 15th Annual Winship 5K run/walk to raise money for cancer research.  Since Santa and Ms. Claus are both cancer survivors, this was a cause we truly could not say no to!

Early Saturday morning, we wrangled up the elves and headed out to greet 3700 runners (the largest in history of the race) and hundreds of volunteers with candy canes, posters, cheers and of course HoHoHos.

Shortly after the race began, we were passed by hundreds of runners each of which were offered candy canes and cheers to keep running for a cure.  While we were very diligent in our preparations, we were not prepared for the onslaught of runners that were thrilled to see Santa and get a quick sugar fix at the halfway point which meant we forgot to take any action photos!  No worries – we plan to make this an annual tradition so stay tuned until next year…

Meanwhile, Secret Santa over Atlanta will kick off in about 6 weeks and we will be in need of your annual donations, but for now we are asking that you please donate to this important research.  To date, this race has raised over $11 million towards cancer research but they are still in need.  And, as we always say, the smallest donation helps.  Please take the time to donate here:  https://winshipcancer.emory.edu/give/ways-to-give.php

Thank you for all of your support.
